The Jyushinkan Aikido Dojo at the Whittier Center sponsors weekly classes for adults, youth, and children. Jyushinkan is certified by the Aikido Association of America (AAA) and carries on the tradition of AAA founder, Fumio Toyoda Shihan.  Our dojo-cho, Dr.  Ronald Sims (6th dan) is a student of Toyoda Shihan and of James Nakayama Shihandai, Shibucho (leader) of AAA’s Western Region.


Tues/Thur:   6:30 – 8:00 pm (adults all levels)
Friday:   4:00 – 5:00 pm (seniors noncombat)
Saturday:   12:00 pm – 1:00 pm (youth 7 and older)
1:00 – 2:00 pm (adult beginner)
2:00 – 3:00 pm (adult intermediate/advanced)
3:00 – 4:00 pm (adult advanced)

Beginners welcome!  Classes emphasize basic aikido movement principles and aikido self-defense techniques appropriate to the level of participants. This will sometimes include basic training with (wooden) weapons.
